I note the ease with which citizen journalist types derail the chanters. In London there is a combination of immigrants flying their flags and white natives joining into the chants.

It is interesting to watch an interviewer walk them through the whole thing. Usually something like this.

Questioner: From the river to the sea... Which river is it?

Young person: Em, I don't know. My geography isn't so good. The Nile?

Questioner: It's the River Jordan. Which sea is it?

Young person: Em, the Mediterranean?

Questioner: That's right. Now what does it mean for Palestine to be free? Free of what?

Young person: Em, well Israel.

Questioner: Does that include the Arab-Israelis? There are two million of them.

Young person: Well, no. Obviously not.

Questioner: So just the Jews?

Awkward pause as images of the Third Reich swim in to focus.

Questioner: So where should the Jews be sent? Where should they be relocated to?

Another awkward pause as the implications of the chant blossom in their mind. Relocation sounds awfully familiar. A nice clinical term that has been used in the past...

It is that easy. That is what programmed messages delivered in neat slogans are like. Absolutely no thought required. If they are told they are fighting oppression it doesn't matter if it is Jews, the unvaxxed or Hitler, as crazy as that sounds.

The NPC phenomenon seems to be real and I suspect the Israel-Gaza conflict is simply demonstrating this.
